Transportation
“What if BolderPathTM could process your waste and deliver finished products within a hundred miles of your location?”
Transportation is one of the most costly and environmentally harmful aspects of manufacturing products in general, not too mention delivering those products to the end user. At BolderPathTM, we are doing our part to drastically reduce transport miles, GHG emissions and consumption of non-renewable fuel sources.
Corporate Culture
There are internal and external opportunities to achieve a sustainable transportation footprint. Internally, we start with our own corporate culture and personal choices. We encourage our staff to commute to work via human power whenever possible and to carpool or use public trans as an alternative. Our employee commuter tool is an easy way to inspire participation and reward staff members that save the most. We also provide the EcoPass bus pass for employees allowing them to freely travel on the Boulder/Denver RTD system.
Our local Supply Chain Model
DiversionWorksTM and other procurement practices represent another internal mission. We acquire as much of our raw materials and production and office supplies as locally as possible. Aside from client material that is sent to us, over 70% of the raw materials going into our products is collected within 25 miles of our design warehouse. Over 90% of our production and office supplies is transported from within the same region.
DiversionWorks Partners located within our 25-mile radius are fortunate enough to participate in our local pickup service. Our main reclamation vehicle is a used but well kept Chevy 2500 Turbo Diesel that we run primarily on bio-fuel and average 18 – 20 mpg. We’re not without aspirations in this department, but we’re doing the best with what we have.
The Future of Regionalized Manufacturing
What if BolderPath could process your waste and deliver finished products within a hundred miles of your location? In fact, the growth model we are trying to establish is localizing the waste reclamation, material processing and manufacturing activities of our company. If your project can benefit from our network of processors and sewers, we’ll be sure to mention it.
